Live Simply
Living Simply at St John’s
At St John’s, we believe that following Jesus means caring for God’s creation and looking after one another. Pope Francis reminds us in Laudato Si’ that our world is a precious gift, and we are called to live in a way that protects it for future generations.
That’s why our school community is taking part in the CAFOD LiveSimply Award. To Live Simply means:
- Live simply – choosing to appreciate what we have, not always wanting more.
- Live sustainably – caring for the environment by reducing waste, recycling, saving energy, and protecting nature.
- Live in solidarity with the poor – standing alongside people who do not have as much as we do, showing kindness, generosity, and prayerful support.
Through prayer, learning, and action, our pupils are encouraged to think about the small changes they can make each day to live more simply – whether that’s walking to school, reusing materials, or taking time to appreciate God’s world around them.
Together as a school, we want to make a difference. By living simply, sustainably, and in solidarity, we are answering Jesus’ call to “love one another as I have loved you.”
