This afternoon Nursery ventured out into the woods. It was a bit wet but the children thoroughly enjoyed it. We hunted for Snowdrops and big sticks to add to the campfire.

🎅✉️ Letters to Santa ✉️🎅
After a long week of working hard on our letters to Santa, we have finally finished our final copies and they are ready to be sent! The children have put lots of effort into their writing and were so proud of their letters.
We are all very excited for Santa to read them! 🎄✨
Year 4 and Year 5 took part in their Advent Reconciliation with Fr Philip. We took some time to reflect on our actions and seek forgiveness for them. We listened to reflective music, watched some inspiring videos about Advent and the lead up to Jesus' birth too 💗🕯️💫
Thank you to those families who were able to join us at St. John’s Church this evening for our annual Carol Concert. The singing was beautiful and our readers did an excellent job - now we really feel ready for Christmas!
Year 1 took part in some tricky den-making. We didn’t have any instructions or pictures to help us, but we still did a super job!
Yesterday afternoon, we gathered together for our Advent Stay and Pray. This week, we lit two purple candles and explored what PEACE means to us 🕊️. It was beautiful to have a calm and peaceful space together 💜
Today, our child-led liturgy focused on Jesus’ heart for peace. The children reflected beautifully on what peace means and how we can share it with others.
Each child wrote their own idea of how they can bring peace into the world today on a special dove. These doves are now displayed in school as a reminder of the small but powerful ways we can make a difference.
We are very proud of their thoughtful contributions and the calm, reflective atmosphere they created. 🕊️💛
The children had a beautiful discussion of what we might like to say ‘thank you’ for. They came up with a huge list of wonderful things! They then went away to write their own personal prayers of thanks which we have made into a book, for our prayer table 🥰
This week in Science, Year 4 have been investigating how we hear sound 🦻🏼The children explored how sounds are made when objects vibrate, and discovered that these vibrations travel through the air and into our ears 🦻🏼We even had a go at drawing our own ears!
This morning we gathered together for a special assembly led by Henry from The Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum. He spoke to us about Remembrance Day and the meaning behind this special time of year 🌹We listened to 'In Flanders Field' read by some of our wonderful Year 6s and took some time to reflect together on the significance of the day. The children sat reverently and beautifully throughout.
