The new tuk tuk is bringing out wonderful teamwork from both Reception and Nursery!
Year 3 have been looking at Belonging and how special it is to belong to a group such as a sport, family or adventure club.
They discussed the roles and responsibilities we have in these groups and why we feel valued in these groups.
Reception visited our woods for the first time, and they had a wonderful time exploring our wonderful woodlands!
What a busy day, Year 3 have been looking at the artist Yayoi Kusama and created some fantastic self-portraits in the style of her work (we were absolutely dotty by the end).
A very warm welcome back to the new school year!
We hope you had a lovely summer break.
πποΈ BIDDING PRAYERS ποΈπ
We have been exploring The Mass in our final RE lessons π―οΈ.
We explored praying for the needs of others. We had an incredible discussion around who we might pray for and why and then the children worked together to create this beautiful page in our Catholic life book. It includes some thoughtful words and stunning artwork capturing some of the responses used at Mass too! π
This week, we had the joy of cheering on our Reception children as they graduated from their Early Years adventure! There were big smiles, proud faces, and lots of clapping as they received their certificates.
Nursery children joined the celebration and even joined in with some songs to make it extra special.
The Nursery children are already dreaming about their turn on that stage next yearπ
This week we celebrated International Week and the wonderful diversity in our school! Children explored different countries through food, music, art, and storytelling.
Postcards from Oceania
Year 4 have been putting their imaginations to work by writing beautiful postcards from their “trip” to the region. From snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef to hiking through the rainforests of Papua New Guinea, their writing brought these amazing destinations to life.
The postcards were filled with wonderful descriptions, exciting adventures, and thoughtful reflections – a fantastic way to combine geography and creative writing.
It's been a fantastic week full of curiosity, joy, and celebration. πβ¨
WOW! To round up our Coastline topic, we were lucky enough to welcome Mrs Wickens to our classroom. She has visited Whitby every year since she was a child so she came and shared some amazing expert facts and photos with us!
The children had some brilliant questions to ask her!
Mrs Wickens EVEN had the famous lemon buns delivered from Whitby for us to try. π We look forward to taste-testing them later on!
We’ve added some brilliant new books to our library to celebrate and support our Lionesses in the Euros and to inspire girls who love football!
Come and explore stories of strength, teamwork, and determination, just like our girls on the pitch.
