Some of our St. John's learners dedicated their time and worked together to collect litter from our school site. We are so proud of them for organising this themselves and for demonstrating the late Pope's message of caring for our planet. Well done to these brilliant role models!
We have had the MOST INCREDIBLE retreat day with the wonderul Dan and Emily from One Life coming into school and spending the whole day with us 💗We gathered together in worship and prayer, filling the school hall with our beautiful singing whilst reflecting on the message that Pope Francis tasked us with this year... to be Pilgrims of Hope 💗😍⭐
A few members of our GIFT team travelled to Cowley to attend the Fr Hudson’s Good Shepherd Mass along with other schools within the PFMAC 🙏🏼⛪️ Bishop Richard led the Mass and James in Year 4 read a bidding prayer so confidently and clearly 🙏🏼🙌🏼 All of the children behaved impeccably and represented our school with pride 🙌🏼😍 It was a joy to spend the morning with them!
We’re excited to share that we’ve opened a Community Pantry to support those in need. Stocked with essentials, it’s open to anyone who could use a helping hand. Donations are welcome—take what you need, give what you can.

We wrapped up the week with a beautiful whole-school May procession, thoughtfully led by the wonderful Mrs. Trivett. The children sang with grace, and we all paused together to pray a decade of the Rosary.

To mark 80 years since VE Day, St. John's started the day by coming together for a special live assembly. We joined schools from across the country and heard about what VE Day is and why we celebrate.
We spent the day creating beautiful artwork, writing heartfelt letters to veterans, and commemorating VE Day with celebration and reflection.

What a fabulous, fun-filled morning Year 2 had at Cricket this morning! Despite the hot weather and minimal shade, ALL children were fully engaged with the activities and were absolutely fantastic on the walk there and back! 🚶➡️🥵☀️. Although, there may be some very tired legs this evening!
The children took part in a range of Cricket activities which gave them a chance to practise different skills. We explored bowling, over-arm throwing, batting and catching! Funny duck was definitely our favourite game... 👍
Year 2 were an absolute delight to take this morning and their manners were impeccable. Simply Super Stars! 🤩⭐🤩

💙🩵 The children said goodbye to Mrs Collier this afternoon by gathering together on the field so she could walk amongst all of the pupils from nursery all the way up to Year 6 💙🩵 There was clapping and cheering as well as a lot of hugs to mark Mrs Collier’s last day with us 🩵💙

🚶♀️✝️💪🏼 Congratulations to The Marshall family who spent some of their Easter break on pilgrimage to the Santiago de Compostella Camino, walking 121km and raising £12,000!!! They shared a beautiful video clip in assembly snapshotting their journey 💫What an incredible achievement to celebrate 💫 A huge well done to all of the Marshalls 💪🏼✝️🚶♀️

Today was a very special day for the children in year 3, many of whom participated in their first Sacrament of Reconciliation. We walked to St John the Evangelist Church for morning Mass, followed by Reconciliation. When we returned to school, we wrote diary entries about our morning, and it was clear the children had enjoyed and reflected deeply on this important event. Well done!

New signs have been placed on our school fence to spark discussions with children about British Values and how they are reflected in our everyday lives.
